Have you ever wanted to be an expert paintball sniper? If so, then here are some tips on what you need to know in order to become a great paintball sniper and have a leg up on the sniper competition.

First, I’d like to dispel a myth when it comes to paintball sniper guns, and what type of sniper gun modifications are necessary to be made in order to be a successful paintball sniper. I think the most common question is: what type of sniper barrel should I purchase to increase my accuracy and distance so I can be an effective paintball sniper? Answer – well, a barrel does matter a great deal, but don’t concentrate on the length of the barrel.

A long sniper barrel will not necessarily help you out at all – what is most important is actually the speed the ball is coming out, and how cleanly it comes out of your sniper barrel. So, should you go out and buy a custom sniper barrel? I would say yes, but make sure it works well with your gun and that you use the correct paint with your barrel. Do not try to go buy a 21” barrel just because is says it’s a 21” sniper barrel, or you will be sorely disappointed.

So, what else do you need if you want to be a great paintball sniper? Well, I would say you need something that is actually free – patience, and then skill. (Please note, I am not saying that you don’t need cool gear like sniper camo, a good accurate sniper gun, an accurate sniper barrel, etc) What I am saying is that you can have the best paintball sniper gear in the world, and still be the world’s worst sniper. Paintball sniping takes skill and patience that can take a while to learn – especially since you can’t sit out 200 yards and snipe people out of the game. You do have to get somewhat close, and that is were the fun is!
